TOO MUCH! Ask first, next time before placing the deposit. 1986 was the first year and so all the bugs were not known until later. The newer models have an improved rubber cylinder bolt plug to prevent the infamous oil leak and a few other changes. There is nothing drastically wrong in '86, but the age, i.e., dried out rubber and wiring, tires paint, etc.. How many miles??
1986:
Clean trade in is LESS than $440
Average retail is LESS than $755
My source is a NADA book January through April, 2003.
Also I am turned off with tank dents. BTW: The later models (1955 to present) have five speed transmissions.
A 1995 model is LESS than $1230 clean trade in and LESS than $1715 ave. retail.
